7th Vocabulary Entry

  • Convenient - suitable or practical for a particular purpose; not causing difficulty.
  • Scapegoat - a person who is punished for things that are not their fault.
  • Buffer - an apparatus at the end of a railroad car, railroad track for absorbing shock during coupling.
  • Paved - to cover an area of ground with paving stones or bricks.
  • Grasslands - land with grass growing on it, especially farmland used for grazing or pasture.
  • Gullies - a small valley or ravine originally worn away by running water and serving as a drainage way after prolonged heavy rains.
  •  Drainage - a system used for making water
  • Widespread - found or happening over a large area; affecting a large number of people.
  • Destruction - the act of destroying.
  • Foreseen - to have prescience of; to know in advance; foreknow.
  • Mother - the female parent of a person or an animal.
  • Nature - all the plants, animals etc. in the universe and all things that happen in it that are not made or caused by people.
  • Legitimate - reasonable or acceptable; allowed by law.
  • Meteorite - a piece of rock from space that hits the earth's surface.
  • Wiped - to rub lightly with or on a cloth, towel, paper, the hand, etc, in order to clean or dry the surface of.
  • Out - away from, or not in, the normal or usual place, position, state, etc.
  • Man - an adult male person, as distinguished from a boy or a woman.
  • Made - to bring into existence by shaping or changing material, combining parts.
  • Accurately - free from error or defect, consistent with a standard, rule, or model; precise; exact.
  • Short - having little length; no long.
  • Sighted - having functional vision; not blind.
